The possibility that Captain Henry Taprell Dorling, better known as "Taffirail," author of many books and short stories, will come out to New Zealand and lecture, was indicated in a letter received at a recent meeting of the Wellington branch of the Navy League. Rear-Admiral G. O. Stephenson, general secretary of the Navy League in London, stated that Captain Dorling was to make a trip to the Dominion in the New Zealand Shipping Company's vessel Cornwall. The itinerary of the Cornwall had not been decided, but it was understood at the time of writing that she would arrive at Auckland on December 19, proceed thence to Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin. Bluff. Gisborne, Napier, New Plymouth.' Nelson, Opua and Tokoniaru Bay, and leaving again about the middle of February. R<mrAdmiral Stephenson asked that lectures should be arranged in New Zealand. The subjects oti which Captain Dorling generally lectures are: "Some Sea Escapes: the Navy of Yesterday and Today, and "What of the Navy? The British Empire and the Limitation of Navies.''
