Lewis, driving an Alfa-Romeo, averaging 88.07 miles an hour. E. R. Hall (M.G.Magnette) was second, averaging 82.77 m.p.h. Mrs. Wisdom (M.G. Magnette), the only woman competing, third averaged 81.24 m.p.h. There were two very narrow escapes. Eyston in the third lap was going at 70 miles an hour when a wheel flew off and struck and injured an official. Eyston struggled for a hundred yards to prevent the car from overturning. Elwes crashed at a corner when the car skidded and somersaulted. He escaped unhurt.
