The Whole —Lot DEFENDANT’S INDIGNANT OUTBURST Riding a bicycle on a footpath in Cordelia Street was the offence with which Terence McGuire was charged at the Stratford Magistrate’s Court today. Inspector Dixon said that when ho had stopped defendant he had given some trouble. He was indignant and when he protested it had been explained that the decision ns to whether a charge would he laid rested vU.li t'lo council. “I hope it chokes them, the whole lot. and staff and inspectors, too,” defendant had said. “I would like to know the meaning of that statement.” added Mr. Dixon. The Magistrate (with a smile): I should say the meaning is pretty obvious. isn’t it? Defendant said that ho had ridden only a few yards on the footpath in order to reach a culvert where he could cross. Ho admitted that he had 1o«t his tern O' 1 !’ when the inspector had stopped him. Defendant was convicted and ordered ,to pay costs 10s.
