LOWGARTH

The annual meeting of the Lowgarth Hall Society was held on Thursday evening. Mr. F. Willan, chairman, gave a resume of the year's work. The most pleasant part of the evening's work was to present the balance sheetwhich Showed a credit balance of £47 19s 7d. The largest expenditure this year is the painting of the hall. The euchre parties held during the year showed a lyofit. and he said the parties were held so as to cater for the older people. He wished to thank the committee for their work during the year, also Messrs. Richards,on and Shrimpton, Mr. E. Kilbride fjr auditing the books, and a hearty vote of thanks to the ladies for the way they helped with all functions. The only thing he was sorry for was that the attendance was not bigger. Ho would like to see the settlers turn up even if it was only once a year, and take nn interest in the hall, as after all the hall was the property of the settlers. The following committee was elected: Messrs. F. Willan (chairman), S. Sulzberger (secretary). A. Willan, A. A. Piper, D. Burke. C. Taylor. A. D. Johnson and R. Klenner. Mr. E. Kilbride was elected auditor. A euchre party and dance will be held next week in aid of the Anglican Church funds.
