TOKO NOTES
ANNUAL MEETING HELD The Toko branch of the W.D.F.U field its annual meeting yesterday afternoon, Mrs. Evan Jones presiding There was a largo attendance of mem v-ber.s and one new member was n ■rolled.
A vote of sympathy was accorded the president, Mrs. P. V. Maunsell, who recently met with a painful accident and her resignation was received .with regret. Appreciation of her untiring efforts on. behalf of the branch, of which she had been president since Sts inception four years ago, was placed on record. Mrs. Maunsell was elected an honorary life member of Uie branch. Officers were elected as follow: President, Mrs. C. La a gl-uuls; vice presidents, Mesdames Maun sell. Woollas ton and Lees; secretary, Miss C. Milne; treasurer, Mrs. Harper; committee, Mrs. H. Kayo,- Misses Bi'cIherton, Leydon,. Butler and K. Jones; advisory members, Mesdames Lung lauds and Murray; auditor, Mr. Rayuor; delegate to Central Taranaki provincial executive, Mrs. Languuius (president), Mrs. Maunsell and Miss C, Milne. The retiring treasurer, Mrs. Marfell, was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for her good work and the secretary was granted-an honorarium of £l.
It was decided to challenge the Nlocal Farmers’ Union lo a game of euchre. A series of cooking competitions are to bo held during the year, commencing this mouth with a puna scone competition. Au invitation was received to attend the birthday function of the Wnaugamoiiiona branch.
