Mr. J. Bitehener to Take

Public Works

T>rp,ss Association Cooyright. Wellington, Today—Mr. J. Bitehener, member for Waitaki, has been appointed Minister of Publio Works.

Mr. John Bitehener was born in England in 1864 and came to New Zealand in 1875. He received his education at the Waimate School. For many years he has been farming at Hook (Canterbury) and has had much experience in local body work. Since 1919 be has been in Parliament as member for Waitaki.
