Keenly Contested Games Press Association —Copyright Wellington, Jan.. 16.—Some keenly contested games were played at the Dominion croquet tournament. at Lower Hutt and Petone today, The weather continues to be good and greens are in excellent condition. Results of play are:— Championship doubles —First round. A G. F. Ross and Mrs Caldow beat Mesdames Jarvie and Brass 21 >~ 2( R Mrs Williamson and Miss Bell beat Mesdames Bock and Lowery 26—17. Women’s championship (first life) —First round: Mrs Gamble beat Mrs Jobson 26—4; Mrs , Keys beat Mrs Acheson 26—17; Mrs Savage beat Mrs Kibblewhite 26—21; Mrs Bocock beat Mrs Simpson 20 —16; Mrs Tiffen beat Mrs Mouat 26—21; Mrs Jarvie beat Mrs Hogan 26—11. Semi-final: Mesdames Tingey and Clark (5) beat Mesdames Gilbert and Nottle (0|) 26—23.
