STAFF TO BE REDUCED AT STRATFORD STATION
ALTERATIONS TO BUILDINGS BEGUN HAS THIS ANY SIGNIFICANCE? While Stratford citizens have had visions of a new and enlarged railway station with an increased staff, when the Stratford. Main Trunk line is completed, there seems to be no indications of any such prospects at the mo. ment. Instead certain interior al. teralions were commenced today, the result of which will b e the reducing of the present staff by one officer. Whether this had any particular significance or not it is difficult to say. When approached K.n the matter the stationmaster, Mr. J. O'Connor, told "The Stratford Evening Post" that as a result of the natural falling oft' in business at this time of the year the station was at present overstaffed. The alterations were being made with a view to combining the two offices of parcels and booking. Under existing circumstances the booking clerk is at the north end of the building and the parcels clerk's office at the south, with the ■stationmaster's private < ffice between. The stationmaster's office is to be removed to the south end and the remaining por tion of the building will be one large office occupied by an officer who will attend tio the parcels and hooking business.
