MONEY FROM LABOUR DEPARTMENT MOTOR DRIVER PLEADS GUILTY Press Association. —Copyright. AUCKLAND, This Day. Wilburn James Finch, aged 28, a motor driver, pleaded guilty to two charges of forging a name to an application to employ labour.

Finch stated that while in the Labour Office applying for work he met an unknown man, who said he never did any work, but got the money.

Asked how, the man told Finch to put a friend’s name on a piece of paper and no inquiries would be made.

Finch filled in the application form with a false name, later returning the slip and receiving 14s. He was committed for sentence.
