A parade of 500 men representative of the Labour movement left the Trades Hall to-day for Parliament House to interview the Prime Minister on the wages reduction question. Over 2,000 gathered to hear the deputation place its views before the Rt. Hon. G. W, Forbes, who met the deputation on the steps. Banners were carried protesting against the Government’s wages policy. The views of Labour were expressed by Mr. Cook and Mr. J. Roberts, president and secretary respectively of the Alliance of Labour, and Messrs. T. Bloodworth and McLaghlan. Mr. Forbes was subjected to much heckling when replying, but the gathering dispersed quietly.
