WEDDING

PH ILLIPS —GOBLE The marriage ot Mr. Frank Phillips, second son of Mr. and Mrs. George Phillips, of Manukau, to Miss Eva Goble, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Goble, of Cardiff, was celebrated at the Methodist Church yesterday, the Rev, T. Skuse officiating. The bridesmaid was Miss Mavis Goble, cousin of the bride; trainbearer, Miss Laura Goble, and flower girl, Miss Dorothy Goble. Mr. Alex Meads, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man. The bride looked charming in a crepe de chine ankle-length frock, frilled and scolloped, and carried a pretty bouquet. The bridesmaid’s dress was ivory crepe de chine, with pale pink hat to match, and bouquet. All the bouquets, which were very pretty, were the ■work of Mrs. A. Moon. The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a travelling rug; the bridegroom’s present to the bride a handsome handbag, to the bridesmaid a string of pearls, and to the flower girl, bracelets. The newly-married couple were the recipients of numerous presents, which included a number of cheques. The wedding breakfast was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, when the usual toasts were honoured, It was a happy gathering of relations of the contracting parties, Mr. and Mrs. Phillips left by the afternoon train for Wanganui on their honeymoon. Their future home will be in Wellington.
