FILM ACTOR'S DEBTS

Brother of Charlie Chaplin, and himself a well-known tilm actor, Sydney Chaplin should have attended at the London Bankruptcy Court lor his public examination. He was adjudged a bankrupt on December 12 on the petition of British International Pictures, Limited, judgment creditors for £12,782. The official receiver intimated that Mr. Chaplin had not surrendered to the proceedings or lodged any statement of his affairs. His address was unknown. A postcard had, however, been received from his former solicitor, and this showed, in colours, the home of Syd. Chaplin at Hollywood. When the official receiver explained that Mr. Chaplin had not been j sfcivcd at Hollywood, the • registrar | rdjourned the examination for six j weeks in order that the usual service I might be made.
