ACCIDENT TO WHANGA TRAIN.
TRUCK DERAILED JVEAIt TOKO. The train which left Stratford for "Whahgamomoua at 4.15 p.m. yesterday,, met with a mishap near Toko, when a truck containing cement was derailed. The accident occurred while the train wa s proceeding around a curve tut had it happened, a little further on the consequences might have been more serious. "When the mishap occurred it remained unnoticed for some distance, a* the train was a heavy one and was travelling on the down grade at the time. The train was brought to a standstill, and the front part taken on to Toko, from whence the ti gine returned to the scene with two empty wagons into which to ui'load the contents of the derailed trrck. The Inspector of Permanent Way was soon on the scene with a breakdown gang and the train was able to proceed on its journey about two hcurs late. The permanent way sustained damage, some of the sleepers b*»ing cut in two, but the line is row in order again and traffic is normal. No cue was injured.
