DARING THUGS MAY BE MEN FROM ABROAD.
WAVE OF i CRIME BY ARMED BANDITS. VIGOROUS SEARCH, SYDNEY, July 2G. Police are conciliating a, vigorous search for the thugs, who yesterday brutally attacked Miss Alice Carbine, cashier, at the Coogee Omnibus Co.s .station, ami rifled the cash box of £59. The description of the bandits tallies with those of the two armed men who commandeered a taxi on Friday night, and forced the driver to take them to Boomerang Street, Haberheld, where they hauler up the driver and conductor ol a ’bus at revolver point and stole about £9. During the past mouths armed hold-ups have been, of almost nightly occurrence. Seventeen cases have been reported to. the police since June 13, but it is believed that many have gone nnreported, the victims remaining s lent, fearing vengeance by the bandits.
