the anuual meeting of, the Avon Bowling Club on Friday evening i states that the revenue exceeded the expenditure by £53 3s lOd. Assets exceed liabilities by £487 12a 4d. won b v Mr b\ Weston, the "B" championship by Mr A. E. Whyte, and th e hand pairs by Mesisrs W. Leusdale and A. Clarke. In the New Year tournament the Club was represented hy three rinkjs, Mr P. Weston's ring reaching the ii'.ials, and the other two' rinks winning their sections. One rink represented the club at the open tournament at the Easter tournament at Hawera thre e rinks competed. Air P. Weston's reaching the semi-finals. Tile selectors carried out their duties in an unbiased manuer their selection undoubtedly being a factor in the winning of the Shield. The green has now been top-dress-ed, the hedges cut, and the garden dug up and cleaucd. To-day the property of the club is looking bet-
