This did not dishearten her at all; she just bided her time. Shortly afterwards she heard that the Prince was going on a trip to Africa, and accordingly the moment that be got out there she left America in the first available ship focj Capetown —a voyage of 5000 miles. When the Prince left Capetown to go up country the young woman fob lowed him, and at every town that lie paused she also was there. At last he r pat.eiice wa s rewarded for at a little back-veldt town an impromptu dance was held to which all the town went among them the indefatigable American girl. Fo r precisely two minutes she had the honour of dancing with the Prince of Wales. Then another partner claimed! him. Tiie next morning the persevering young woman was on her way back to America, the wish of her life fulfilled.
