AMATEUR ATHLETICS
THE STRATFORD CLUB. At a meeting of the committee of the recently-formed Amateu’n Athletic Club, held last night, Mr J. Steven was appointed lion, secretary. Messrs G'illiver and Wynyard were appointed to represent the club at a conference to be held shortly, to discuss the question of the forma.tion of a Taranaki centre. It was resolved to apply for application to the New Zealand Council. Training evenings are to be arranged for, the first to take place on Wednesday, 23rd inst., commencing at G o’clock. Messrs S. J. Cuff and H. Shields were appointed coaches for running and field events respectively. It was reported that Mr Yates had offered a cup for competition. The offer was gratefully accepted. Messrs Malone, Mills, Owen and Skoglund were appointed an executive committee to deal with matters of urgency, which may arise between meetings. bn, tending members are asked to leave their names with the bon. sec, Mr J.
