CITY OF PERTH CELEBRATES CENTENARY
GOVERNOR UNVEILS TABLET IN TOWN HALL" FIRST LORD MATOB* PERTH, This Day. The centenary celebrations of the foundation of Perth were held.yesterday. The city was beflagge'd, and the Governor, Sir William Campton, in the presence of a large crowd,, unveiled a commemorative 'tablet on the wall of the Town Hall. The Governor read a letter from Lord Passfield, stating thai the King had conferred the dignity of a Lord Mayoralty on the city. ,Th'e first Lord Mayor is Mr J. T. Franklin, M.L.C.—Australian Press.
