MUSICAL EVENING
PRESBYTERIAN CHOIR .SOCIAL The Presbyterian Church -social held last night, was very well attended, considering th© inclemency of the weather. This social was the last of a series of such,, and other performances, that have been organised with a view to obtaining funds for the purpose of extinguishing the church, debt. The proramme was an excellent one, and besides the church choir, several local people gave their services. Details of the programme are; Miss Brown (pianoforte solo); Choir (song); Mr P. Thomson (song; Mrs Pettigrew, (monologue); Mr A, Sextus (song; Miss Jackson (song); Choir (Glee); Mrs Mcßeth (song); Miss Doreen Pettigrew (recitation); Mr Don Bain, (song); Miss McCormack (song); Choir (song) Mr P. Aitken (song); Mr Morrison (song); community singing. Mrs A. R. Masters was accompanist©. The Rev. J. MacGregor, after the performance, thanked all those who had worked hard throughout the year to make each performance they had arranged a success. He took the opportunity to pass a vote af appreciation to the fine work done for the church by Mr J. McKee, who- had now left th© district. To suitably thank Mr McKee the church had decided to hold a social in about three weeks’ time, during which, the opportunity would be taken to give a small presentation to Mr McKe.e. In concluding, he thanked the choir and the outside performers who had given them such a splendid evening’s entertainment. Supper, provided by the ladies, was partaken of after Mr MacGregor had finished his speech.
