The Waverley races take place on the Waverley racecourse on Saturday. _ x The Ashburton County Club holds its meeting on Saturday. —x — Paddon's second to Seatoim in the Cornwall Handicap at Ellerslie on June 3 will not be forgotten when he races at Trentham next month. Young Thurnham is likely to improve with the racing he had in. Hawke's Bay, and looks like winning a race over the battens before he returns north. Mangani, who was unlucky at the Great Northern meeting at Ellerslie, is one of the early favourites for the Wellington Steeplechase. —x — Anolo is reported to be in good order, and is one of the prime fancies for the Patea County Cup at Waverley on Saturday. —x — The imported Bright Land" (OrbLandlady) and Prince Lu are two northerners who will have -plenty of friends at Trentham next month. Red Fuchsia, is getting through good work on the Awapuni trades. Glena Bay, a member of Mr J. Carroll's team at Te Rapa, is reported to he in solid trim just now.
