PearJ BagbMe, a beautiful art teacher, aged twenty, was found strangled *"to deatlh early on Monday morning after a night of prayer with ber suitor, Dennis Barclay, twenty-two, the scion of a wealthy English family, in his room. Barclay,, when charged with murder, was incoherent and babbled: "I don't know what! happened, but I 'know the Lord loved Pearl. The Lord loved little Pearl. I had a vision of the Lord and the Lord spoke to me and told me He loved her. The Lord said Pearl was to be. the mother of Christ, and she had conceived, and would bear Christ,"—Australian Press Assn.
