Explaining the purpose of the new organisation, Sir Joseph "Ward said that it! wfmldl deal entirely with motor cars and motor vehicles, but it would not deal with the question of any contributions received by the Main Highways BOard, which will remain under the Public Wor;ks Department; "It 1 will have to. deal with the difficult question of taxation of vehicles, cost of petrol, and what adjustments are required to enable local" public bodies to revise their finances in t!he event of reductions' being made to heavy traffic license fees. .The whole matter of considerable importance and the'rtj iB no doubt the Transport Board can do a tremendous amount of useful work.
