About six o’clock last evening a sad fatality occurred at Rotoorangi on the farm of Mr John Davidson, five miles from Cambridge, when a. farm, hand, Rudolph Adderley, a single man, aged 43 years, was found drowned in a deep drain at the back of the farm.

About five o’clock deceased went to round up the cows for milking, and a,s ho did not return in a reasonable time, Davidson instituted a search and discovered the body of deceased lying in about two feet of water. Life was extinct ,artificial respiration being unsuccessful. When the body was examined a bruise was observed on the forehead! supposed that deceased slipped when crossing thp drain and struck his head an the opposite sid'd then falling back into the water.
