BIG FOREST FIRES
ALARM AND DESTRUCTION. LOS ANGELES, Sept. 24. Earthquake shocks and forest fires have caused alarm and destruction in various parts of the State. There were three distinct shocks in the Los Angeles district. Many residents rushed from their homes, but there jnas been no loss of life or damage here. four fire-fighters are dead and many injured, while 2000 are battling with the forest fires in widely-separa-ted parts of the State.
