WAIKIATO MARKET REPORT. The Farmers' o-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report':— Beef.—The fllarket is very firm u:u> there has been a good rise during the last fortnight, best prime ox ma'king 40s per lOOlbs. and prime cow and heifer up to 38s'. 'Vith little offering, we are likely to see very high prices during spring and the early summer. Fat Sheep.—Sufficient is comingforward to meet 'the demand, and although prices are firm there bus been no rise lately. Store Sheep.—There is still a string inquiry l'Or good ewes in lamb, wethers and hoggets, the latter class being hard to obtain. Store Cattle.—The yardings have been small, with a very strong demand for young and grown steers, also good store cows. There appears to be a big shortage of male cattle, and it looks as if we will see very high prices this spring. Dairy Cattle.—Good dairy herds and good springing heifers are meeting with keen competition. Pig Si —pi-ices for baconers and porker s are good; there is also a good demand for big stores, but weaners and slips are still very low. Horses. —Several horse sales have been held, but only good useful farm sorts are meeting with any competition. Heavy horses and the light class are hard to quit. ELTIIAM SALE. The Farmers' Coop report a f air yarding of stores, especially fats, and a small yarding of (!hiry dit tie at their Elt'liam sale yesterday. Following are quotations: Store pens: Forward heifer s up to £5, fat heifers £7 t„ £9 lis, prime fat cows up to £lO 7s fid, bullocks £.7 to £1.2 18s, store pigs at Into market rates. Dairy pens: Cow s £9 to. £ll 10s, springing heifers £7 10s to £lO 10s.
