MANGATOKI DAIRY CO
ANNUAL MEETING. TJIO annual meeting of suppliers of the Marigatoki Dairy Co. was held yesterday, Mr 11; it. Free, chairman of directors, presiding. The supply in the district covered by the company was well maintained stated thp chairman's report. The quantity of milk supplied almost as great as that last year. The quality of the. company's produce had again liteeh high in the list of that being graded at Patea. From the balance to cred'lt of the appropriation account the directors recommended the payment of five per cent, interest on shares. This would absorb £1257. "Hie retiring directors, Messrs G. Preeee, T. R. Anderson and J. P. Marx were re-elected. Mr C Wills was voted to the vacancy caused! by the resignation of Mr E. weech. Mr Marx said that of about 2o Taranaki dairy companies only three or four had made a better pay-out than M'angatoki. Their own cost of manufacture had been 4.60 d «l>er lb a few years ago, but now he was glad to see that it had dropped to 3.9 - Though this was good he thought it was not low enough. The secretary stated that in 1918 they had had a current deficit o i' over £IB,OOO. This had been gradually reduced until to.day it was £IBOO. Messrs Walklev and Cameron were re-elected auditors at the same remuneration. Honoraria, the same as last jear were voted the chairman and directors. The granting of honoraria, to the secretary ami the manager was referred to the directors. A vote of thanks was accorded the retiring director, Mr K- Beech, for his services.
