Their Excellencies the GovernorGeneral and Lady Alice Fergusson, brought a two-days' visit to a close this morning when they were farewelled at the railway station on leaving to attend the Manawatu Show. Their heavy programme included the Jockey Club ball and visits yesterday to the public and Catholic schools, the Pukeora Sanatorium. They attended a civic reception aiid w'ere presented with an Address from the Borough and the County Councils of Waipukurau and Patangata. Lady Alice addressed the ladies of the Mothers’ Union, of which she is Dominion president, while Sir Charles performed the opening ceremony •6‘f 'thc Masonic Jubilee Temple as Dominion Grand Master. The town has been en fete and the receptions were most cordial. “I think these visits have a certain use,” said the Governor-General at a civic welcome. Pie commented on the extraordinary progress of the Dominion in the last fifty years.
