WORK IN THE PARKS
OFFICERS’ REPORT. The. caretaker (Mr A. Bone) reported as follows to the Domain Board: last night on the work in the parks ' (luring the oast nionth: The following woirk has been, attended to: Bing Edward Park; The grass ha« been weeded ail'd topi-dressed. All paths have .been cleaned up and th© hedge along the Page Street boundary has been attended to. The trees in the following streets have been cleaned and the soil dug up around 'them —Fenton Street, cast and west, Miranda, Page, Portia ,ancl Hamlet Strelets- Victoria! Park: The grass on th© hockey ground has been mowed and cleaned Up. The terraces hav© been top-dressed, two flower beds planted atnd all leaves cleaned, im.
The Borough Foreralan (Mr L. B. Davis) reported a s follows: King Edward'ra!*ic: The swing bridge has been repaired and widened, pew stringer and new decking having been fitted. The small plank bridge over the small creek on the northern aid© of river has been taken down and replaced W a new footbridge, with hand-rail and wir© netting §ides. The stile at th© corner of Brecon Road and Page Street has been taken down and a gat© fitted. A small gat© has been fitted on the Regan , Street side for the coiivemnce of the Association 'footballers. A now piece of fence has been erected along Brecon 1 Road from, Regan Street to th© bush. There is a considerable, amount of soil in Miranda Street that would be suitable for filling arid'banking along th© feme© from the Band room towards the entrance gates. If this wer© filled and graded it would improve the appearance in tin’s part of the Park. J, would like th© 'advic© of the Committee on this matter.
Victoria Park. —The grass on tlio hockey field has been cut, rolled and marked as required bv tlio Hockey Club. Tlie football fields have been rolled and marked out as required by the Football Club.
Mr P. Thomson remarked that Mr Davis had made a splendid job of the; bridges in King Edward Park.
Mr. Davis’ report was adopted and he was authorised to do the banking and filling mentioned.
