GAS TANK EXPLODES

A tank of phosgene gas exploded' in a street at Hamburg last Slight and a great gas cloud settled on the neighbouring • streets which were hurriedly evacuated. Thirty thousand vy'ero driven *from their homes. It Is known that three are dead and! a hundred in hospital, all the latter being in danger of death. The Reichswchr was mobilised to assist the firemen who were . attempting to disperse the cloud ..with ammonia.
