CROOKS LAVISH FUNERALS

TVKEATJIS AND FIRING PARTY. VANCOUVER, May 1. The most impressive Liberals in Chicago during the past four years have been those of three leaders of the underworld. With full pomp and panoply, and a military firing party because he had an honourable discharge from the army, Vincent Drucci, known as “The Schemer,” was buried last week.

The funeral was comparable in lavish expenditure to that of the notorious criminal Dion O’Bannion, who perished in a running automobile light wtih machine-guns, between two rival gangs.

The Stars and Stripes draped the coffin. Twelve motorloads of wreaths were valued at £7OOO, and the coffin was of silver. The newspapers listed the names of notable gang leaders as being present, as if they were reputable citizens.
