NOTES AND COMMENTS. FROM "POST" SPECIAL CORRESPONDENTS. TAHORA. The stormy weather that we hay© been experiencing during the last week appears to have ended' and there is every prospect of flue days and frosty nights continuing, to our great relief, as the roads in the district are in a very bad state, but a few days •sun and wind will soon.revive them. The township is filling tip rapidly with new families arriving bo taker up positions on the P.W. Department and a large number of new children are attending the local. . school, half of which, was taken down to the Tangarjakan Flat late'last year. The school is now in, a very cramped! state but We are in hopes of relief- from the EdiKiatiou Departiment in • the near future.

i A meeting of the School Committee wa,s held- on v Monday, the 14 ins't., *fji the. schoolroom. Members present were Messrs Chas. Morton(chair), F '.Cuff, H. Hendry, A.'. Gbm- ■ way and the schoolmaster, Mr Higgons: ' The headmaster's report was read. The coramittde '.ijaeets on the second Monday m each month. i The Kennedy Entertainers gave a show at Tkhora last night, Tuesday' loth, and those that attended wore kept interested right. through the programme, and one and all seemed thoroughly satisfied with, iheir night's enjoyment. A very fair house attended, which would have been packed to

the roof, only for the slips that are down'on the line, that runs to Tahgarakau Flat, a,nd of course the state of the road would not allow of anyone coming per foot. Mr Jim Bowman has returned to Tahora after a fortnight's holiday down south. Miss McPhee left on Tuesday on a short vacation.
