SCHOOL FOOTBALL. NORTH v. SOUTH. The Taranaki Primary Schools Rugby Union and Sports Association propose holding a series of matches commencing next Saturday, for the purpose of picking team s for the North-South match. Jn the Southern area a. team from the Eastern District, which extends to Whangamomona, will play a match at Stratford on Saturday against a team picked from the Stratford Primary, Midhirst and Whorehuia Schools. Another team chosen from the Eltham district- will meet the Eltham School team, while a similar procedure will be followed in the Hawera district. In the Western area, teams chosen from schools extending from Okaiawa to Opunake, and Kaponga will meet at Manaia. Wllen the trial games are finished, further teams will be picked from the south-western team s to meet the teams picked from the other parts of the southern area a match to be played at, either Eltham or Kaponga. From the teams competing in that match, the south team will be chosen. A similar procedure will be adopted in the northern area. OPUNAKE V. STRATFORD, VICTORIA PARK SATURDAY. Opunake and Stratford seniors will meet on Victoria Park on Saturday. The following Wanganui players have been nominated for the North Island team; Cox (wing-forwfard), R. Murie (hooker), E. Beilis (breakaway), C. Hartley (wing threequarter), A. R. Collier (wing threequarter), J. McAuliffe (five-eighth). The Tongaporutu team played the final match which counts for the McMillan Shield at Awakino on Saturday last, the score being; Tongaporutu 9 (three tries) ; Awakino 0.

The follow ing will represent Cardiff v. Toko, at Cardiff: —L. Collins, O’Sullivan, C. Stewart, Miers, Pryce, Nicholls, David, N. Stewart, ’ Horn,’ Lehmann (2), Trotft, Huckstep, Smith, Wisnewski. Emergencies; McMahon,' Huckstep, A a guard.

The following will represent the seniors to moot Opunake on Saturday on Victoria. ‘Park:—A. Collins, Cl Coulton, F. Dassett, A. Walter, J. Henry, J. Sangster, R. Frvdav, S. Hinton, J. Young, J.
