A STARTLING SACRIFICE. Some time ago Messrs Manoys Ltd. removed their large stock from the building they previously occupied to l two adjoining shops which are used as temporary premises during the rebuilding Operations; Tile mtiguituda oT tile task involved in transferring a huge stock from one building to another can he readily imagined, and it Is not surprising that the firm in question are iiot ailxiou* to repeat the experience in a few weeks' time when their new and up-to-date building will he completed. In addition they have at present large stocks 01 new goods on the way front the; old world* and rdonl, will have to lie found t'iir t'iese. Under the circuni stances it has been decided that as little as possible of the present stock will l:o removed but every effort will 1)3 mad to dispose ol it. Of course, a ceuain amount of loss will have to be incur red but it is thought that that will be preferable to the tremendous work that would be involved in the removal together with the additional task of finding room for the shipments which will soon come to hand. Therefore, the firm have decided to sacrifice the present stock and shipments which wiit Hhnn foine to hand. Therefore, be firm have decid td o sacrifice the present stock and with that end in view will inaugurate a sale which will be very ftiUch out of the ordinary in that: it will he in real. ity almost a giving-away affair. So that filial preparations may be made the firm's premises will be closed on Monday loth. The sale Avill commence on Tuesday morning and is certain to be rushed because a visit to the shop on Friday, while preparations were in progress disclosed the fact that most startling reductions' in prices will take place. These are far too numerous to be mentioned here but are described in an advertisement in Monday night's issue, l't is sufficient to say that anyone who misses paying a visit to the sale will have cause for regret. This is not a one department sale, it is really a genuine clearing sale because the firm are absolutely determined that the present stock must go.

The new premises are rapidly Hearing completion and the roof has now teen, put on while the showroom ceilnig's on the top floor are in course of erection. Twenty-two men are at present engaged on the job and the plasterer's will heg.in their ' work on Monday next. The fittings and show cases .have heen specially designed, and tinders for this work have already j been called. A glance at the plans jshows that these will be up-to-date in every respect, and will be quite in keeping with the other features of the hew building which will be a credit not only to Stratford but to Taranaki business enterprise. x
