SHOOTING.

- GUN CLUB. Last Saturday, in bright sunny weather (reports the Guardian), the EUesmere Gun Club held a live bird match for trophies' valued at £f> 6s and £3 3s, and cash prizes of 20s for third and 10s for fourth. There we'-e 17 competitors, the number of birds being 12—6 pigeons and 6 sparrows. At piceons the shooting was good. but the sparrows were nearly all lively, providing some tricky, shots. At pigeons S. Vince, E. Washboume . and F. Graham killed all six birds. jW. Quigley. L. C. Lemon and D. Strez securing five. S. Vince, who | showed very good form throughout, killed five sparrows, putting up a score of 11 kills, and winning first prize. W. Quigley and F. Graham tied for second place with ten and in the shoot-off F. Graham .secured the .second prize, W. Quigley taking third money. For the fourth prize W. J Winchester, E. Washboume and F. G. Framptou had to shoot oil", E. j Washbourne being successful. I SPIUNGSTON GUN CLUB. The third shoot for the Bennett Cup was held in Mr N. Powell's paddock on Wednesday of last week in line weather and before a good attendance. There were 14 competitors. The match is one of eleven birds. The previous winners were: 1923, H. Hatchardj 1924, A. Mcßean. The 'winner for 19225 proved to be T. J. i Kimber, who shot the possible. The I junior members receive special consideration in regard to handicaps in ' this particular shoot. The following are the principal scores:—T. Kimber 19 handicap, 11 breaks, C. Chapman '{ilj 9. A. N. Turner (J 9) 9, E. Arnst (19) 8, W. Bennett (15) 8, Stan Bennett (12) 8, J. .'). Matthews (16, 8, C. Hutchinson (11) 8, F. Frampton (Hi) 7, It. Tyson (i2) 7, W. Donovan (13) 7. Afternoon tea was served by the lady supporters. In the absence of Mr S. F. Barnett, Dr. E. J. Cooke, president of the Club, in an appropriate speech, presented the cup to the winner. A os sweep of 9 birds (14 entries) was divided by W. Bennett (13yds) anr T. Kimber (20yds) W J IO both Jsiioc the possible. No. 2 sweep of 9 bird.-, was won t;y N. Powell (15yds), who shot all his birds. A. N. Turner (17yds) and Stati Bennett (11yds) divided and 3rd money. A first miss out sweep, which was won by N.
