OLD GIRLS’ CLUB, - " The annual meeting of the Stratford Old Girls’ Hockey Club was held, last night, Mr H. C, Johnson being in th© chair. 1 ’ t Tho annual report and balancesheet showed that tile -Club was financially in. a strong'position, having a credit- balance'of £6 -Is 9d. Tha position wag due to the pronipthcs:-. with which the subscriptions were paid and a successful dance was held during the year.. For a lirst season, the membership was considered satisfactory. There were too many players for one team, and too few fur two. In order to allow all to take part in games, two teams had been entered in the competitions, the vacancies in the second team being iilled by Technical High,School girls. The Club could be proud of .the, creditable performances of the players. On June 3 the “A” team was -successful in winning the .Gatran Cup against teams from the whole of Taranaki, and in the cup competitions wa» tln;i successful runner-up tp the champion team of Taranaki. Thanks were expressed to Mr A. H. R. Asnes s (Director of the Stratford Technical High School) for the use of the school field for practices, ft was hoped that m the new field was in hotter order this year would be better..
