A telegram from Chicago states that Mr Albert Loeb, father of the youthful murderer, who had been brooding over his son's fate, died at his residence here.

Mr Loeb's health had been steadily declining, his; feelings being long torn between grief for his son and compassion for the victims. The penalty induced persistent melancholia, from which he was unable to recover.
