RICCARTON NOTES. Per Press Association. Christeliurch, November 2. The weather is fine lor training; operations at Riccarton, all the horses doing fast work outside the course proper. Sasanoff ran a mile and a quarter in 2.11, Taimaha and Good Day assisting at various stages. Margarine with a mate ran the last 9 of a mile and a-half in 2.43 4-5. Wrestler but out live furlongs in L. 3. Mazama ami Dusky Eve. a mile and a-quarter in 2.1 4-5. Menelaus heat Mascot comfortably over a mile and a-lialf in 2.4 2-5. Heathcote beat Happy Captain over nine furlongs in 2.0. Gloaming did strong work on the tan Croesus heat Demos over six furlongs in 1.17 4-5. Nystad beat Birkenvale in 1.10, Torfreda ran four in 49. Sedd el' Bahr easily beat Cynic over a mile in 1:45. Parisian Diamond easilv, beat Mill o' Gowrie over six furlongs in 1.18 1-5. Ascalphus ran six in 1.18. Killard beat Winter Cherry oevr a mile in 1-45 .1-5. Onslaught beat Long Range over seven in 1.30. Braid, on getting a break, easily eat Trenna over seven in 1.31 2-5 Devotion put in some strong work doing the last, fiv#. furlongs in 1 7 Bun ho rati seven furlongs in 1.35. Client, Rorke's Drift and Snub finished in that order over ljmilesin 2.40. Scornful covered a mile and aquarter in 2.10 4-5. Algidas cut out the mile in 1.43. Hymestra easily beat Marsa over five furlongs in 1.3 1-5, Yolo ran a mile in 1.46 3-5. Rose Pink beat Arch, Salute, ami Varnish over a mile in 1.45 3-5. Detroit ran seven furlongs in 1.31. Acre beat M.ichaela over six furlongs in 1.18. KillruKh assisted PTngo over the last mile and a-qnarter in- 2.12 1-5. St. Kevin 1 gave a good exhibition round the hurdles. Sentence was not so good and fell at the last obstacle. Scornful over a mile and a-quarter alone in 2.10 4-5. A number of two year geldings, galloped in batches down the straight for half a mile. Crenides, Affectation, Rose Wreath, Murihiku, Lady Bail, Royal Stag, Ameythas, and Warplaue all shaped well, but .timing was impossible.
