A London cable states that Admiral Jellicoe's title will be Viscount Jellicoe of Scapa.
The name of G. B. Crosson (A. Crosson, Stratford, mother) appears among those recently reported wounded, admitted to hospital.
The Rev. Father Cahill, who has been in charge of the Kaponga parish for the past, five years, has received official notification of his transfer to the Waipawa-Waipuluirau district.
An Amersterdam cable reports that the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg 3trelitz committed suicide. He was found in the canal near the Castle of Neustrelitz, with a gunshot wound in the breast.
Rev. Father A. D. Mulvihill, of New South Wales, who was in charge of Hawera parish some. 30 years ago (states the Star) is at present on a visit to Hawera ( and renewing acquaintance with old friends and residents.
The death took place at Tiakitahuna on Sunday (states tho Mana watu Standard) of an old and respected resident in the person of Mrs M. Noonan, at the ripe age of 75 years The late Mrs Noonan was born in Limerick, Ireland, and arrived in New Zealand 51 years ago, the last 30 of which were spent in the Tiakitahuna district. The deceased lady is survived by a husband and grown-up family of four sons and three daughters, the sons being Messrs Thomas and Michael (Longburn), William (Kaponga), and Hugh (on active, service). The daughters are Mrs Tunbridge (Stratford), Mrs T. Norris (Falmerston North), and Miss L. Noonan (Tiakitahuna).
