ANNUAL CONCERT AND BREAK* UP CEREMONY.

T,}ie Ngaere , School concert and breaking up ceremony took place in Ngaere Hall on, Thursday before a packed attendance, and prayed - a great success. -. Hr T. F/. ..Coleman .ichaiiman of The, committee), presided. The hall j>ad been decorated for. the occasion, and the children acquitted themselves very well indeed. The children’s -items were contributed by the infants, junior girls, and boys, senior girls and • boys, senior scholars, combined, and Misses If. Taylor and P. Sims;.the cbontrjbutors to the. second portion of the programme were . Misses Kirkby, Phillips, and Gilddy, Master Irwin,, and Messrs Parker, Sanne, E. Parrott, H. Andrews, Hart, James, and W, Orr. The chairman, on behalf of the pupils presented Mr M, .XI. Rogers, N wlio has been probationer for two yeays,. ■ with, a set of four volumes of poets. Mr.vSirps (headmaster). spoke higlily, of the recipient’s work as teacher.- Mr, .Rogers, who is entering Victoria. Training College, suitably replied. ,r,, .T'„r. ■; Certificates .were - .presented, to the fourteen .scholars .who were examined in Standard.V.l_(all passing),, eleven with proficiency- and three competency certificates; 1 . • . . ■ - - . The -good attendance .certificate was won by Florence Walker At the conclusion hearty votes of thanks were ■ recorded. to the, performers and - all. who- assisted to the success of the entertainment. The takings at the door - amounted to £lO 11s 3d. A dance followed-the .concert.
