THE CARRICK TRAGEDY.
ACCUSED COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. Per Pvo«p Association. >' Christchurch, Deeenmer 22. The case in which Winifred "arrick was charged with the murdei of her child Donald Lewis Carrick at Addington on December Bth, was concluded at the Magistrate's Court last night. Evidence was given by M: and Mrs Burns with whom the child was boarded, regarding incidents on the night preceding the tragedy ,un ; | also as to finding the body nest morning in the garden. Evidence was also given by children and a c.ib?r.a,i regarding enquiries made by the accused as to where Mrs Burns lived. Detective Gibm, cvserinetl the arrest of Winifred Carrulc wtatse stockings, skirt, and handbag u«-je damp and dirty.
Accused reserved her defence and was committed for trial.
