Two thousand out of 12,000 Commonwealth pound notes disappeared during postal transit from Melbourne to Perth. LAND TAX PROPOSALS. (Received 9.55 a.m.) Melbourne, December 11. The Federal House passed the Government's amended land tax proposals involving considerable increases. The Supply Bill was passed.
COMMONWEALTH REVENUE.

The Treasurer estimated the revenue for the curent year at £10,231,359, and the expenditure at £11,231,359. He estimated the railway receipts at £501,719 below working expenses. It is proposed to increase the railway rates and fares from July.
INDUSTRIAL CONDITIONS IN THE COMMONWEALTH.

The report dealing with industrial conditions in the Commonwealth showr that the average increase per head in wages in 1913 was 4s 6d weekly.
