The executive committee of the A. and P. Association will meet this evening.
Mr J. B. Hine/'MiP., in a notice in our advertising columns, returns thanks to the electors of Stratford for again returning him to a seat in the House. v
In connection with yesterday's poll it should be remembered that there are still to be accounted for 125 absent voters' permits, these including the votes of local members of the Expeditionary Force.
Weather Forecast.—The indications are for westerly winds moderate to strong with a southerly tendency. There is a prospect of fair to cloudy weather, but squally at times. The barometer has a rising tendency.— ihites, Wellington.
At the half-yearly meeting of fcliBank of New Zealand to-day Mr William Watson was re-elected shareholders' representative on the Board. In returning thanks for bis election, he said that Avhere the circumstances of companies permitted the payment of dividends, they should do so instead of withholding them and placing shareholders 'in an awkward position by Hniifillrr their- 'tIOOTnP«.
