HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE.
The selection of photo-plays screened last night proved instructional and amusing. It is pleasing to note that the Avar has not affected the output ol photo-plays by the companies, and that this theatre is keeping its programmes well up to the standard. The feature play, “Man’s Soul,” is a fine drama of Western America, and a very thrilling scene is that of a prairie fire which devastates the countryside. “Man’s Soul” is a play which will appeal to everybody. Other fine pictures are: “Girl Across the Hall,” a splendid drama by the Thanhauser Co; “The Outlaw,” a thrilling cowboy play by the Chicago Film Co. ft is not all blood and thunder, but a true story of everyday life in the west; “The Australian Gazette,” right up-to.date in events from the Commonwealth; “The City of Sydney” is a splendid travel scenic, and the comedies are good— Keystone’s “Gambling Rube” (a Ruby comedy). “The Card of Mystery,”''and “The Girl and the Gondolier.” The management have secured a splendid picture programme for show nights, including that great play by the A.B. Company, “The Shadows of a Great City,” and other big star attractions, and special pictures for the country folk and visitors to Stratford. The Orchestra will be augmented.
