Mr Massey paid his first visit t( Dannevirke this evening, and address ed an overflowing meeting at the Towi Hall, the building being crowded half an-hour before starting. The Premie: received a magnificent reception, anc was accorded a patient hearing throughout his two hours’ speech, ii which he dealt with current political questions. Hearty applause greeted Mr Mas sey as he resumed his seat, A vot< of thanks and renewed confidence b Mr Massey and the Ministry was passed by an overwhelming majority * “Thanks,” said Mr Massey in replying. “That will be the verdict oi polling day—a big majority for Re form.” The meeting concluded wit) hearty cheers for Mr Massey. SIR JOSEPH WARD. Whangarei, November 30. Sir Joseph Ward delivered a politi cal address before a large audienta in the Whangarei Town Hall to-night. The meeting was intensely enthusias tic, and at the conclusion of the speed a unanimous vote of confidence in th< Liberal'party under Sir Joseph Ward with the hope that he would he return ed to power by a substantial majority at the forthcoming elections, was car ried, the meeting dispersing aftes hearty cheers for the Opposition lea der.
Before leaving for Auckland to morrow, he proceeds to Hikurangi t< address the miners.

Mr J. M. Dickson, Reform candi date for Chalmers, addressed a meet iug of electors to-night at Anderson’ Bay. He said the Government wbuh he justified in forcing on the marke any wheat or flour held by speculators The Government had the power' am they should resort to extreme mea sures to see that the people were no exploited. Following are the nominations foi the Maori electorates: Northern district: Heremia te Waka, Tau Henare, Riapo Timoti Puhipi, Anaru Nga wajd, Nau Paraone Kauriti, Raraom Hoori, Neho Teni, Hemi te Paa; East, era: Apirana Turpa Ngata, Heteki; Te Kani Pere; Western: Maui Po mare, Herna Ropata Teao, Pepem Eketone, Taurohakaririki Katena Rangi Mawhete, Hori Tiro Paora, Southern: Teone Matapura Erihana Taare Parata, Hapareta Rorb. MR HAWKINS’ CAMPAIGN. Mr W. H. Hawkins, Liberal candi date, addressed, a meeting of about thirty electors in the Pembroke Road School last evening. The meeting was both interesting and instructive. Aftej sneaking for nearly two hours, the candidate answered a number of questions, and a motion of thanks wa> carried amid applause. The mover oi the motion stated' that the address was easily the best political address ever delivered in the district. A vote of thanks to Mr R. Rogers for presiding concluded a very enjoyable meeting. . Mr Hawkins speaks in the Ingle wood Town Hall to-night, in the Stratford. Town Hall on Friday night, al Tututawa midday on Saturday, and at Puniwhakau in the evening.
