ALLEGED TURKISH PLOT. AGAINST MILITARY LEADERS. United Press Association. Ontario, November 24. The police arrested three Turks who plotted to kill Colonel Hughes, Minister of MiKtia, wliose arrival there was expected. Letters found on the prison, ers indicated an attempt had been planned against Canada's greatst military men. ' THE PLOT DISCREDITED. Ottawa, November 24. The Government announces that considerable doubt exists as to whether the Turkish plot . concerned Colonel Hughes, "and is inclined to discredit it as exaggerated. INCREASING THE OUTPUT. Ottawa, November 24. The Manufacturers' Association and Graingrowers' Association, two bodies hitherto bitter political enemies, have united, and sent a deputation to Mr Borden asking for the appointment of a commission to increase the agricultural dutput of Canada in order to help the Mother Country during the war. Mr Borden promised the Government's assistance.
ENCOURAGING TRADE WITHIN THE EMPIRE.
Ottawa, November 25.
Mr Mcßride, Premier of Vancouver, has announced that reciprocity with Australia is under the Cabinet's consideration. Now that the Empire was at.war there was an opportunity for building up trade within the Empire. Refusing to assist in building up the tr.ade of foreign countries ought to be a cardinal policy of British Dominion. New Zealand's trade relations could also be largely developed on similar lines.
