News has been received in Auckland of the death of Lance-Corporal Gilchrist, a member of the Medical .Corps attached to the New Zealattd expeditionary force, who volunteered from Otago. He succumbed to ptomaine poisoning, dying in his sleep after a short illness. The remains of the young trooper were interred with full military honors.
