The results of the elections show that 229 Demorcats were elected to the House of Representatives, 194 Republicans, seven Progressives, one So r ciah’sts, and one Independent. A feature of the ylection was the complete failure of the Progressive Party. Four returns are sitll awaited.

By a large majority the prohibitionists carried Washington, Colorado, Arizona and Oregon States.

Seven States—North and South Dakota, Montana, Nevada, Ohio, Missouri and Nebraska—voted on the women suffrage question, but only two States—Montana and Nevada—voted favorably. Ohio and California decided to retain tjie drink traffic by large majorties. The prohibitionists are greatly pleased with their victories ( and hope the national campaign for prohibition will be a success.

California decided to prohibit prizefighting by a small majority.
