The Russians are giving the Aus-tro-Germans no rest. The retreat, which was at first orderly, is now confused and hastily executed, forcing the Germans to fight a, Rearguard action. The Russians are taking thousands of prisoners, as well as capturing guns and stores. The Tsar telegraphed to the Moscow Merchants’ Association that peace would .'Dot be .concluded until the enemy was completely crushed.

Official; The Germans on the East Prussian front are on the defensive-: The Russians advanced in some districts and captured two guns and prisoners ; also south-east of Kielce, three Austrian cannon, five mitrailleuses and fiifteen hundred prisoners, the enemy only obtaining his positions on the lower course of the Opatow. The Russians further progressed on the left bank of the San. A desperate battle favourable to the Russians continues in the Nisko district. \
