THE STRATFORD CROQUET CLUB.

Mrs R. Dingle presided at the annual meeting of the members of the Stratford Croquet and Tennis Club, held in the Club’s pavilion on Thursday. The annual report read as follows: The Committee, in presenting to you the Sih annual report and balancesheet, has much pleasure in congratulating you on the very satisfactory financial position of the Club. The Bank overdraft at the beginning of the season was £l7 IDs 4d. It was reduced to £4 6s 3d. The assets amount to £ll3 4s 9d. So this has been the most successful season since the Club’s inauguration. During the season eight matches were played, resulting in four wins and four losses. The Domain Board has granted enough additional land to form four more Tenuis Courts, one of which has already been turfed and will be ready for use almost immediately. Special thanks are due to Mr Dingle, who has given up a great deal of his time in supervising this work, also to Mr Lawrence

and Mr G. Lawrence for valuable assistance rendered. During the season several new members were elected for both croquet and tennis, bringing the total up to 60. All the lawns are in first-class' order, so an enjoyable season is anticipated. OFFICE BEARERS. The following officers were elected: President, Mrs Dingle (re-elected); vice-president. Mr H. E. Lawrence; committee, Mesdames King, Curtis, Reader and Mr Geoff. Lawrence; secretary, Mrs L. Riera; auditor, Mr C. Penn; green wardens, Messrs R. Dingle and G. Lawrence. GENERAL.
