LAND BALLOT.
A ballot for several sections in the Taranaki District was, bold at the Land Board Office, New Plyn onto, on Wednesday afternoon. r J hero were 122 applications alcove:her for Hie eleven sections. Mr A. Coxbead, member of the Land Hoard, acted as scrutineer, and the ballot was drawn bj r Mr G. H. Bullard (commissioner). There were a fair number of applicants present. Preference was given to married applicants with families, and to applicants who have been twice unsuccessful within the last two years. The selections are mostly under the 0.11. P. tenure. Following was the result of the ballot:— Section 8, block 11, Mahoe, DOT acres.—A. R. Anderson. Only applicant. Section 12, { block 8, Waitara, .'ldo acres.—Donald Smith, Only applicant.
